He looked smooth, got rid of the ball quickly and appeared comfortable on the field.

Those were my first impressions of new Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn while watching him briefly in the team’s 45-minute workout this morning, the first time Seattle-area reporters had an opportunity to see Flynn in action.

A QB with some decision-making ability behind center really brings me lots of optimism for this upcoming season. We all know Tarvaris is more athletic, but his mental mistakes really hurt this team last year.

Exactly, decision making is HUGE. Also, you flat out can't rely on TJoke to win a single game in the clutch, this has been proven.

I had the honor/ dumb luck of playing golf in the foursome ahead of Matt Flynn, Golden Tate and their ladies. @ Glendale CC (private) in Bellevue.

Matt Flynn is dating Miss Louisana, Lacey Michew. I'd post some photos but you wouldn't be able to get back to work.

I mention this to further support his decision making ability.

yeah - I'm definitely looking forward to more decisive QB play

Jackson had a career year and gave it his absolute all ..... it still put him in the lower tier of starting NFL QBs ......... this deep into his career he is what he is and it isn't a starter

I like having a couple guys on the team that at least offer that hope that they could start ...... that they can go through a pre-snap read and get the ball out on time

That they understand pass protection and step up into the pocket and find the passing lanes instead of rolling backwards outside the pocket right into a pass rusher that was pushed down field

So many mental breakdowns were tough to watch

So was the fact that seattle couldn't use the middle of the field at all
