)I've been working behind the scenes for a while now to upgrade our forum software to the newest & most secure version of phpBB available. The old forum has been down for a few days because I needed to convert the database without the possibility of corruption. I'm happy to say that all 159,300 some-odd posts have been converted, and we experienced no data loss at all during the conversion process. That should include post counts, pm's, avatars, & signatures.
Besides the security upgrade, the new forum software has plenty of new user-based features to enhance your experience. I strongly suggest you check out our FAQ section for detailed information on what's new. You can check it out here: faq.php
After looking at the FAQ section, be sure to update your profile via the User Control Panel just underneath the site logo. Here, you can add your birthday (on the day of your birthday, you'll be recognized on the front page under the birthday list), subscribe to individual threads, change your forum preferences, and update your profile. You now have the ability to save posts as drafts & bookmark individual threads, and you manage this feature in the UCP as well.
Another change you may have noticed is a new category called "Gameday Discussion". This will be the place to post all in-game content while your watching the Seahawks. The subforums will be broken down by years, and then again by individual game threads. Individual game threads will be locked until the morning of the game to keep things clean & consolidated.
I've also significantly trimmed down our registered user list. I wanted trim away the users who never contributed, or haven't posted in years. If your reading this as a guest, and you cannot login to the site, try re-registering with a new name/and or email address.
Although the ranking system is the same (see below), I decided to freshen up the ranking images as well as the other forum graphics to tie in the new look. When you start off as a griss, your ranking image is the beginning of the Seahawks logo. As your contribute more and climb up the ranks, more of the logo is displayed. When you hit 1000+ posts you become "Family" and the entire logo is displayed under your username when you post. Here's the ranking structure:
0 - 50 Posts = Griss
51 - 150 Posts = Whiskey Tango
151 - 300 = Associate
301 - 650 = Crew
651 - 999 = Hitman
1000+ = Family
Although we've added new features with the software upgrade, our rules haven't changed. Will (Shadowhawk) & myself are still the moderators and we'll continue to be as fair and lenient as possible. We realize its a football forum, but the two things we will not tolerate are: Absolutely No racial or pornography content. We want you to have a kick-ass time while your here, but we also don't want to be babysitters. Be civil, and respect one another. If you don't, you'll get warned. (a new feature with this forum upgrade) If you ignore the warning, you'll get a temporary ban. If you continue to be a pain in the ass, you'll get a lifetime ban.
